Writing in English is difficult for most non-native English speakers, and yet it's a very important skill to learn and will improve your vocabulary & grammar, making your spoken English better too.

I made the Fast Fiction = Faster Fluency writing workbooks because many of my advanced students have told me that they feel like they've hit a plateau and their English isn't improving as fast as they want. They practice speaking with native speakers, watch many YouTube videos, read IELTS books, etc. Even though all of this is important, they still aren't where they want to be.

I believe that writing fictional short stories in English is a fun way to use the language creatively so that you improve your word choice, sentence structure, and grammar in a way that you probably haven't tried before. In this English conversation class we'll read your stories aloud and discuss them, as well as talk about common themes from literature and how they affect people in real life. You'll learn how to be a better fiction & non-fiction writer in English, and learn to explain your opinion about various topics in a convincing way.

How will writing fiction & talking about stories help me improve my English? 

Writing & reading fiction helps advanced learners improve their English in several ways. By writing stories and attending this class regularly, you'll be able to...

How does your conversation in English class work?

The goal is to practice speaking English spontaneously, so I don't want you to memorize answers. We'll practice "off the cuff" speaking, which is an important skill to master. Speaking in this way is left out of many English language courses, so I want to provide an interesting and challenging option for advanced learners to continue perfecting their English. Classes have a maximum of 4 people, so everyone gets plenty of talking time and you can get to know each other. 

Here's how a typical class operates...

• You'll read one of your stories out loud to practice pronunciation and reading with feeling. You can also choose to read a story outline and ask the group for ideas about what to write.

• Others can ask you questions about your story and word choices.

• I'll give everyone detailed corrections so everybody learns from each other's mistakes. 

• I'll join the discussion too, and teach you to use phrasal verbs the way native speakers do, current English idioms & expressions, and how to answer questions more like a native speaker. 

• We'll discuss various topics and stories. Everyone will get a lot of time to speak English spontaneously during our discussion so you can practice the corrections I gave previously. 

• I'll send you supplemental materials for every class to help you improve.

This is a unique class that you won't find at a conventional language center.
